Boras Family Foundation Announces the Boras Baseball Classic of Arizona set for Spring 2017
16 Elite Southwestern Teams to Vie for the First Annual Boras Baseball Classic of Arizona Championship Title
Newport Beach, CA, December 14, 2016—The Boras Foundation announced today,the addition of Arizona to host the inauguralSouthwestern Classic.
The Boras Baseball Classic of Arizona will feature 16-teams from around the Southwest to name a de-facto Championship with games beginning March 8, 2017.
“To be able to offer even more athletes the opportunity to compete against the top talent with the addition of Arizona is exciting to say the least,”said Scott Boras, Director of The Boras Foundation. “When we began the Classic four years ago, it was our goal to positively impact the lives of baseball athletes around the country. Offering a platform for them to showcase their talents to collegiate coaches and MLB scouts is just one way the Boras Foundation is giving back to the community.”
The 16 high school teams participating in the tournament are guaranteed a minimum of three games, with a fourth game for the two schools that reach the highly anticipated championship game. The Boras Baseball Classic tournament bracketwill be made available in its entirety at the Boras Classic website, borasclassicaz.com in early 2017.
